The Student Research Group in Indian Studies at the Faculty of Asian and African Cultures at the University of Warsaw has been active for almost 20 years. Initially operating under the name 'Minakshi', it was later known as 'Rasamandala' before becoming 'Padmachakra'. The group actively promotes knowledge about India and South Asia more broadly. It also participates in initiatives such as the University of Warsaw's 'Miasteczko na styku kultur' (Orientalia) and 'Night of Museums'. Over the years, the group has organised screenings of Indian films that would otherwise be unavailable to Polish audiences. During the 2023/24 academic year, the group ran a South Asian Film Discussion Club to deepen attendees' knowledge of South Asia's audiovisual culture.
